working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Bismarck,
North Dakota, 58501! Job Title: Med/Tele/PCU RN Profession:
Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift:
12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience:
Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have: PCU experience, ability to read strips Description: Unit
Notes: Department: Med/Tele RN Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
PROFILE REVIEW and MANAGER INTERVIEW required PCU experience is
mandatory, along with the ability to read strips Total number of
beds in the unit is 32 Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5, with
occasional 5-6 on nights PCU level care overflow on the unit is
staffed at a ratio of 1:3 Common diagnoses and types of patients
include adults and geriatrics Typical conditions treated are
cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, alcohol withdrawal, COVID-19
with Bipap, and occasional general surgical cases with a cardiac
history Medical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia, COVID-19,
acute on chronic conditions, and influenza are frequently seen
Tele/cardiac RN with PCU experience is preferred Epic experience is
a plus, including first-time travelers RNs are required to titrate
drips Common titratable or set rate drips include Amiodarone,
Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dobutamine
Levo is not used on this unit There is a Charge Nurse on each shift
who may take a light patient load of 2-3 patients Nurse aids or
patient care techs are available on this unit with a goal of a 1:10
ratio RNs will troubleshoot equipment such as Bipap, trachs, and
airvo Tele/monitor techs are present in the unit RNs are required
to read and interpret their own strips Shifts include 7a-7p and
7p-7a Rotating shifts, if applicable, will not exceed weekly
rotation Schedule is managed by the nurse manager with
consideration for blocked schedules based on unit needs Weekend
requirements include every other weekend Holiday requirements
include every other holiday There is no call or standby requirement
Floating may occur in all areas, assisting as needed Scrubs of any
color are permissible Orientation consists of 2 shifts of
unit-specific training Additional notes indicate that this is
primarily a tele/cardiac unit Radius rule is 50 miles, and
candidates may not hold concurrent employment with any associated
facilities Requests for time off must be provided upfront with
limits on the number of days A cancellation policy is in place for
shifts per contract Charting system used is EPIC A BSN is not
required for this position License submission is necessary Trauma
Level 2 care is provided Care setting is acute Division is nursing
Shift notes include every other weekend and night shifts with first
