CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary
hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access
hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison,
Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and
outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs
in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge
Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health
offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical
services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and
specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services,
durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance
center and ancillary services throughout western and central North

Reports to the Vice President Patient Care
Services/Chief Nursing Executive. Responsible for planning,
organizing, implementing, and directing resources in assigned
nursing area. Manages nursing departments, ensures quality patient
care and patient experience; promotes growth and development of
personnel and department; supports the CommonSpirit Health mission,
vision, and values. All criteria-based duties and standards will be
performed according to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of
the Medical Center.

maintains, and evaluates policies and procedures to facilitate the
delivery of nursing care.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of basic
clinical skills in delivery of patient care. Organizational skills
to plan and control the responsibilities assigned to the position.
Able to use computer, keyboard, and telephone. Effective verbal and
written communication skills are necessary. Relationship skills are
necessary to effectively lead change. Flexibility to adjust to
changing conditions and the various details of the job. Visual
acuity necessary to prepare and read reports. Basic Life Support
Certification within 3 months of employment and meets
recertification as required.
Master’s Degree in healthcare
administration and/or business administration within 5 years of
hire. Minimum of 3 or more years of demonstrated successful
leadership in a healthcare facility preferred.
