CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services.  CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in development and implementation of public relations and social media marketing strategies intended to create and uphold a positive image for CH St. Alexius and CHI Health - Midwest Division locations. In collaboration with the Division Director and public relations team they will work to form relationships with media and the community to promote service lines, physicians and collaborative ventures, as well as the St. Alexius and CHI Health brand. In collaboration with the Division Director, Social Media Strategist and the Digital Marketing team they will work with organization’s stakeholders on an integrated social media presence. This role will function as an individual contributor within the department as well as support larger initiatives within the Public Relations and Digital Marekting Division teams.

1.       Under the leadership of the Division Director, develop and implement public relations and social media programs to enhance CHI St. Alexius’ public opinion and business reputation including developing relationships with community organizations and implementation of grassroots efforts.

 

2.       Handle media inquiries as needed in collaboration with designated media relations staff and proactively seek out and pitch media stories.

 

3.       Participates in creation, maintenance and update of content in support of CHI St. Alexius’ and other CHI Health social media channels.

 

4.       Providers training to social media users of the organization on best practices and toolsets.

 

5.       Enforce social media governance strategy and best practices.

 

6.       Develop promotional materials, publications and other public relations content.

 

 

7.       Assist with measurement of public relations strategy results and data collection to monitor and understand CHI St. Alexius  and CHI Health’s public perception.

 

8.       Coordinate events designed for community engagement including program launches, ground breakings, ribbon cuttings and other programs.

 

9.       Assist with crisis communication planning and maintain compliance with HIPAA and other federal, state or local laws governing public relations activities.

Qualifications
   

Required Education for Staff Job Levels

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or communications

 

Required Licensure and Certifications

NA

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·         Knowledge in designing and executing successful public relations campaigns.

·         Event planning experience.

·         Exceptional writing and editing skills.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills.

·         Depth of knowledge in Social Media channels and best practice

·         Ability to work in a large geographically diverse system.

·         Collaborative work style.

 

PREFERRED Qualifications

Minimum experience 1-2 years in the communications field strongly preferred

 

Health care experience is preferred.
