Job Description:

Overview Responsible for assisting with the Community Center programs, provide support and supervision to the children enrolled in The Salvation Army community center programs. The primary duty of this position is working with our After School Program. This is a part time position with a workweek expectation of up to 25 hours per week Responsibilities + Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This would include but not be limited to such actions: resolution of conflicts in a positive manner; courteous treatment of staff, clients and visitors; respect of others property and person, professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors and subordinates. Support the Mission of The Salvation Army by treating every donor, contact and colleague with respect and dignity, and without discrimination of any kind. + Implement volunteer activities within the community center program. + Coordinate planning and implementation of activities such as assisting with meals + Work with and supervise children + Maintain positive attitude toward program participants + Maintain program area set up, take down and clean up. + Maintain security of children during program hours + Maintain the centers activity and gaming equipment + Provide ongoing support and encouragement to community center volunteers. + Maintain statistical reports as required by The Salvation Army and outside funding sources and complete required reports in a timely manner. + Follow Safe From Harm guidelines and reporting. + Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Must be over the age of eighteen, with working knowledge of recreational program and operational procedures. Ability to work with children in a variety of settings including, gym activities, craft room, computer and game room. Ability to provide direction and redirect children as necessary, follow basic program plans and willing to work evening and weekend hours when necessary. CPR and First Aid Certified Must possess a North Dakota Drivers License. Must be able to pass the Salvation Army required background checks and MVR Drivers qualifications.
