Job Title: Shop Cleaner-Porter Department: Service Reports To: Fixed Operations Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY Keeps the service entrance bay and technician bays clean and tidy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. --- Washes shop truck, inside and out. --- Cleans for lift and power equipment. --- Empties and cleans all trash receptacles, inside and outside. --- Removes all debris from the lot. --- Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedures. --- Removes any old scrap parts from shop after checking with parts manager. --- Returns cores to storage area. --- Assists technicians with oil and water spills and with emptying drain tubs. --- Runs errands as directed by service manager. --- Sweeps technician stalls and service department floors. --- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. --- Reports any safety issues immediately to management. --- Understands and compiles with OSHA Right-to-Know and other federal, state and local regulations. --- Uses proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection. --- Keeps current on all training requirements; such as GM training, Compliance training and other training as assigned by manager. --- Sets a good example by maintaining a healthy work demeanor and cooperating with other managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. Represents Puklich Chevrolet positively when out in the community. MARGINAL DUTIES Marginal Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. --- Completes alignment diagnostics on vehicles as needed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
