Summary of Work This position serves as the chief technology
officer for the DOCR.
Provides direction and management of all DOCR Information
Systems Technologies, which includes leading all IT professional
and technical staff, partnering with vendors and stakeholders on
creative solutions, and responsible for managing all DOCR
Technology Planning: Responsible for creation and implementation
of a comprehensive strategic agency technology plan; working with
DOCR divisions and facilities on technology needs and providing
creative technology solutions, while ensuring technology enhances
operational expectations of the agency.
Budgeting: Involved in creation of biennial technology budget,
manages technology projects and costs, manage state and federal
grant requests, coordinate and negotiate technology contracts with
vendors, and provide direction on all IT related expenditures.
Research and Development: Recommendation, assessment, and
evaluation of all technologies applicable to corrections, which
includes working with operations to enhance security systems, and
ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all agency automation
Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree with a major
in computer science, computer or management information systems,
business administration, or similar field, and five years of work
experience managing technology for a large employer that matches
the scope of work section above. Additional work experience as
described may substitute for up to two years of the education
requirement on a year-for-year basis.
This position requires an individual with a team-focused
