working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in
Turtle Lake, North Dakota, 58575! Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room/MedSurg/Swing Bed
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours
per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Active RN
License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have:
Understanding of dementia Experience with geriatric patient care
Ability to titrate drips (electrolytes, hypertensive medications,
IV antibiotics, blood transfusions) Experience with skin care
Description: Department operates as an Emergency Room/MedSurg/Swing
Bed unit. The facility has a critical access designation and is
located in a rural area. The unit has a total of 25 beds. A team
nursing model is utilized with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8.
Common diagnoses include dementia, diabetes, and rehabilitation
care post-acute illness. Responsibilities include care for
dependent older adults, administration of IV medications, fluid and
blood administration, and initial care of trauma patients in the
ER. Knowledge of caring for patients with exacerbation of chronic
illnesses and geriatric population is necessary. RNs must read and
interpret telemetry strips. The unit includes nurse aides or
patient care technicians on each shift for support. Each shift has
a charge nurse who takes part in team assignments. Floating to
MedSurg support may be required. Weekend and holiday work is
expected, usually every other holiday. Self-scheduling is available
upon request, and block scheduling is possible. Scrubs are
provided, and there is no specific color requirement for uniforms.
The facility operates with a 50-mile radius rule for candidates.
Initial requests for time off must be submitted upfront, and
