Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Bismarck, ND Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,728 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours, Nights, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Required Must-Have: Surgical experience, post-operative care, early ambulation experience Description: The nursing unit consists of 30 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day shift and 1:5-6 during the night shift. Common diagnoses include total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, various urology procedures, and abdominal surgeries. Experience with bariatrics, medical overflow, and management of hemo hemovacs and JP drains is frequently required. Familiarity with colostomies is beneficial. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN may be present. Charge nurses are assigned to both shifts, and they occasionally take a low-acuity assignment. Patient care technicians are available on the unit with a ratio of 1 to 12 patients. Respiratory therapy primarily handles equipment such as vents and CPAPs, while RNs only troubleshoot. Remote telemetry packs and monitor techs are utilized, and RNs are not required to read strips. Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are considered based on unit needs. Weekend work is every other weekend, with holiday requirements as needed. Floating to medical and telemetry units is a possibility. Additional notes include a strong emphasis on bedside shift reporting. A close-knit and supportive culture exists on the unit, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
