Registered Nurse - MedSurg – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse -
MedSurg Location: Bismarck, North Dakota Start Date: 02-16-2026 End
Date: 05-18-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type:
Rotating 12-hour shifts, primarily nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM;
manager-set schedule (day shift 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM may occur),
every-other weekend required, holidays as needed (night shift
focus) Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour About

Provide compassionate, high-quality post-op and medical-surgical
nursing care for a diverse patient mix including orthopedic,
spinal, urology, abdominal and bariatric cases Deliver thorough
bedside shift reports to ensure smooth patient handoffs and
continuity of care Monitor patients on telemetry/remote packs and
collaborate with telemetry/monitor techs and the care team Manage
common post-op devices and drains (Hemovac, JP) and care for
colostomies and other surgical wounds Administer and monitor
infusions such as PCA pumps, occasional heparin drips, and TPN per
unit protocols Float to medical and telemetry areas as needed,
providing safe patient care across unit types Qualifications Active
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice BLS
certification required Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
(MedSurg experience preferred) Comfortable with post-op/surgical
patients, early ambulation, and bedside shift reporting Willingness
to float to medical and telemetry areas Okay for first-time travel
nurses to apply; team supports integration into the unit BSN not
required Education Active RN license (required) BLS certification
(required) BSN: Not required Knowledge & Skills Strong med-surg
clinical assessment and post-op care skills Experience with
telemetry monitoring workflows and collaborating with remote
monitor techs Familiarity with EPIC charting system Skill in
managing PCA pumps, TPN, and occasional heparin drips Ability to
work in a team-focused environment and participate in bedside shift
report Comfort with floating between medical and telemetry units
