Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Bismarck, North
Dakota, 58501! Job Title: Med/Telemetry/PCU Registered Nurse

13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must have PCU experience and be able to read
strips. Tele/cardiac RN experience is preferred. Epic experience is
a plus. RN must be able to titrate drips including Amio, Cardizem,
Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine. RN must be
able to read and interpret cardiac strips. Description: This
position is in a Med/Telemetry/PCU environment with 32 beds. The
nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5, with occasional 5-6 on nights.
PCU level care overflow is managed on the unit with a ratio of 1:3.
Common diagnoses and types of patients include adults and
geriatrics, cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, COVID-19
Bipap, general surgical patients with a heart history, and medical
patients with cardiac history, including pneumonia, acute on
chronic conditions, influenza, and sepsis. Charge nurses are
present on each shift and may take a light patient load of 2-3
patients. Patient care techs are available on the unit, with a goal
ratio of 1:10. Registered nurses are required to troubleshoot
respiratory equipment such as Bipap and trachs. Tele/monitor techs
are available in this unit. Shifts are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7
p.m. to 7 a.m. Weekend requirements are every other weekend.
Holiday requirements are every other holiday. There is no call or
standby requirement. Float requirements include assisting in all
areas as needed, with full patient loads in PCU and med/surg units.
Scrubs of any color are permitted. A total of two shifts of
unit-specific orientation are provided during the first week.
Additional needs for time off must be submitted upfront and will
not be approved after submissions. The cancellation policy allows
for four shifts per contract, or three shifts if the contract is
under 13 weeks. Charting is done using the Epic system. 5 Benefits
