Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Bismarck, ND Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,812 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Bismarck, North Dakota, 58501! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years in Labor and Delivery License: Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced preferred), STABLE Must-Have: - EPIC experience - 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Labor and Delivery unit. The unit has 7 labor and delivery beds, 12 postpartum beds, and 8 surgical beds. There is 1 dedicated operating room for C-Sections and 2 GYN surgical operating rooms. The triage area contains 3 beds, averaging 17 patients per month. This unit has an annual average of 643 births. The nurse-to-patient ratio follows AWHONN guidelines with 1:1-2 for labor and delivery and 1:2-3 for postpartum couplets. Common patients include those with obstetric and antepartum conditions, as well as postpartum care. The nurse must be comfortable with drips, including titration. Common titratable drips include pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and occasional insulin drips. Other commonly seen medications are procardia, labetalol, TXA, methergine, hemabate, cytotec, and cervidil. Charge nurses will take an assignment and participate in deliveries. Traveling nurses are not assigned as charge nurses. The team includes a dedicated OB scrub tech, unit clerk, and occasional nursing students. Registered Nurses are expected to scrub if able. OB and neonatal specialists are on call 24/7. Anesthesia is also available in-house 24/7. Registered Nurses may need to troubleshoot respiratory equipment, providing supplemental oxygen as needed. The unit is remote telemetry capable, and in rare cases, there will be a monitor tech present. Registered Nurses should be able to place patches correctly and read telemetry in Phase 1 recovery after C-Sections. The unit utilizes GE/Corometrics EFM systems. Shifts and scheduling will be rotational, with the manager coordinating the schedule cognizant of sleep patterns. Weekend requirements include every third weekend, and holiday requirements are as needed. There is no call or standby requirement, but optional overtime opportunities may be available. Registered Nurses may float to other units as needed. Surgical scrubs are provided, and unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts. High patient satisfaction is reported in the department. RTO must be submitted upfront, and additional requests may not be approved. The cancellation policy allows for 4 shifts per contract or 3 shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks.
