Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Bismarck, North Dakota,

Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Surgical experience,
post-op, early ambulation experience Description: Unit department
has 30 beds. Nurse-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day and
1:5-6 at night. Common diagnoses include total joint replacements,
spinal surgeries, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries like
laparoscopic appendectomy and bowel resection, bariatric cases, and
medical overflow. Patients with hemovacs, JP drains, and
colostomies are frequently seen. There is no gynecological care,
and cardiac cases are handled by telemetry. RNs are not required to
titrate drips but may encounter occasional heparin drips, PCA
pumps, and TPN. A charge nurse is present on each shift, and they
may occasionally take a low-acuity assignment at night. Patient
care technicians are available with a ratio of 1:12. RNs do not
perform reading of EKG strips; monitoring is conducted by dedicated
personnel. RNs are expected to conduct bedside shift reports.
Floating may be required to medical and telemetry units. Weekend
requirements include working every other weekend, and holidays as
needed. Self-scheduling may be considered based on unit needs. The
unit has a close-knit culture promoting teamwork and support among
staff. A radius rule is applied for this position. Requests for
time off are limited. Cancellation policies apply based on shift
commitments. The charting system utilized is EPIC. BSN is not
required for this position. This is an acute care setting with a
