Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Bismarck, North Dakota. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The LDRP Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum. The RN functions independently in a high-acuity unit, collaborating with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams to deliver safe, high-quality maternal and newborn care. Requirements - Experience: Minimum 3 years LDRP experience required - Certifications (AHA Required): - BLS - NRP - AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced preferred) - STABLE - Charting System: EPIC - Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted) - License: Active state RN license at submission - Education: ADN or higher (BSN not required) - Radius Rule: Must live 50 miles from facility - RTO: Up to 7 days per 13-week contract (must be approved at submission) - Cancellations: Up to 4 per 13-week contract Unit Details - Unit Type: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) - Beds: - 7 Labor & Delivery - 12 Postpartum, 8 Surgical - 3 Triage Bays (avg. 17 patients/month) - 1 Dedicated C-Section OR 2 GYN Surgical ORs - Births: Approx. 643 per year - Ratios (AWHONN Standards): - L&D: 1:1–2 - Postpartum: 1:2–3 couplets - Surgical/Medical: 1:3–4 - Common Diagnoses: Pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, hypertension, MgSO? therapy, postpartum hemorrhage, vaginal and C-section deliveries, hysterectomy, GYN surgeries - Titration Required: Yes – Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, occasional Insulin drips Staffing & Support - Charge Nurse on each shift (may take assignment) - OB scrub techs M–F (Days), occasional nurse techs (students) - OB and Neonatology on-call 24/7 (NNP onsite overnight) - Anesthesia in-house 24/7 - Surgical scrubs provided Orientation - Duration: 2 x 12-hour shifts - Floating: May float to Peds MS, NICU (feeder-growers), Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, or ED as sitter/helping hands Additional Notes - High patient satisfaction department - RTO strictly limited - Candidates must not be currently employed (FT/PT/PRN) with any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facilities Experience: Minimum 3 years LDRP experience required Certifications (AHA Required): BLS NRP AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced preferred) STABLE About Care Career Care Career brings together a portfolio of leading healthcare staffing organizations, each delivering specialized talent solutions across the industry.
