Experience: Minimum of 3 years L&D, M/B, Gyn care License:
Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS
(STABLE preferred) Must-Have: Experience in Labor & Delivery,
Postpartum, and Gynecological care. Description: General job duties
include the care of labor and delivery patients. Nursing care
during delivery involves high-risk patients. Postpartum care for
mothers and babies is required. Gynecological surgical
postoperative care is included in responsibilities. Fetal monitors,
suction, oxygen, and vital signs monitors are utilized in the unit.
OBIX documentation and centralized monitoring for labor and
delivery are part of the equipment used. EPIC is used for
gynecological patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2
for labor and delivery, 1:3 for mother/baby couplets, and 1:5-6 for
a combination of mother/babies and gynecological patients.
Willingness to float to nursery and NICU is required. Nights and
occasional days are part of the schedule. Every third weekend and
every other holiday are included in the work schedule. Dress code
is navy blue scrubs for gynecological and mother/baby care, or
hospital-provided scrubs for labor and delivery. Travelers will
receive 36 hours of orientation.
