Under the supervision of the Clinic Coordinator, the Clinic Nurse (LPN) assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care in the clinic according to policies and procedures. - The clinic nurse assists physicians in clinical duties to ensure patients and families receive the highest quality care and knowledge promoting patient wellness. - The clinic nurse maintains standards of the State Nurse Practice Act.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Utilizes the nursing process to assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes. Meets the educational needs of coworkers and patient/family utilizing principals of teaching/learning.Delegates nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient care requirements.Successfully completed the defined job specific competencies, including competency for age specific, as appropriate. -
-Education: Graduate of a school of nursing.Licensure: Licensed by the North Dakota Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CPR certified - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ACLS certification optional - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PALS optionalExperience: Prefer a minimum of one year clinical or hospital experience.Skills: The Clinic Nurse (LPN) has knowledge of the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Has knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Has knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. The clinic nurse is skilled in the administration of medications and treatments as directed and is skilled in taking vitals signs and in the use of various types of equipment used for examination and treatment purposes. The clinic nurse is able to maintain quality control standards and to recognize problems and recommend solutions. - He/she possesses sufficient computer skills to navigate through multiple programs for data entryInterpersonal Skills: Must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation.Strong communication skills are key to this position. - This person is responsible for providing both oral and written communications in an accurate, clear and concise manner to patients and staff members. - The nurse will maintain a positive and professional manner at all times. - - He/she will treat coworkers and patients with the utmost courtesy and respect for their persons and positions. - It is critical that this person has the ability to work effectively with co-workers as a team member. - Must maintain patient confidentiality.Physical Effort: Medium. - This position requires full range of body motion including handling and moving patients; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Clinic Nurses are required to walk, sit, stand, bend, kneel and stretch and may be standing or walking for extended periods of time. It also requires a person to be able to lift and move items, occasionally in excess of 50 lbs. - Requires working with a variety of potentially stressful situationsHours of Work: Variable work hours - 7:00 - 18:00 Monday - Friday. - Occasional overtime is required.Exemption Status: Non-ExemptOther: Frequent contact with Clinic staff members, patients and business vendors, can also include contact with angry and upset people. - Contact involves dealing with sick patients. - Works under the following conditions: Fast paced, potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and infectious environmental hazards as associated with the Medical Center's operations
