Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton,
and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in
Mobridge, S. D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line
of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II
Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health
and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness
and human performance center and ancillary services throughout
western and central North Dakota. CHI St. Alexius Health is part of
CommonSpirit Health, a nonprofit, Catholic health system dedicated

Responsibilities The Clincal Pharmacy Supervisor ensures the
quality of service and continuity of patient drug therapy and care.
This position contributes to the Mission and Vision of CHI St
Alexius Health by serving as a designated functional lead with
oversight of the day to day clinical pharmacy activities of their
operations and team members. Provides management support to plan,
organize and lead resources with assigned team members; as well as
functioning as an individual contributor within the department. The
Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor participates in operationalizing CHI
St Alexius Health strategic initiatives and priorities. 1. Has the
authoity to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and
conduct performance evaluations. 2. Assigns day-to-day work
activities; directs the functional and technical job performance of
team members.3. Allocate and direct staffing needs to meet patient,
unit, and department needs, and collaborate with others to ensure
overall staffing needs are met.4. Manage performace including:
setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance
progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and
addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments
using corrective action. 5. Assists the Director of Pharmacy, with
staffing and personnel assignments to maintain adequate coverage of
pharmacy services to all service areas.6. Represents the pharmacy
on committees and at meetings, as requested by the Pharmacy
Director.7. Communicates and interacts with hospital staff and
physicians in all matters of services and drug therapy as
appropriate.8. Assures appropriate level of understanding,
awareness and compliance with all applicable JCAHO, federal, state
and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional
standards.9. Participates in all safety, security and infection
control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and
provided by the department.10..Works with Risk Management and
Quality to develop systems and quality improvement programs to
minimize the risk of medication errors. Develops educational
programs to insure all staff members are aware of medications
errors at CHI St. Alexius Health and across the country. 11.
Represents pharmacy on Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Safe Medication
and Administration committees and others as assigned across the
system as requested by Pharmacy Leadership.12. Manages drug use
evaluation activities in the pharmacy. Actively participates in the
development of treatment protocols and medication guidelines with
the Pharmacy Regional Clinical Program.13. Assists in planning,
development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services
consistent with system, campus and department goals/objectives.14.
Manages clinical pharmacy services provided by department staff,
clinical faculty, residents and students. Assures seamless clinical
services to patients, health professionals and monitors clinical
competencies of professional staff.15. Is responsible for assisting
with screening, training, professional/technical guidance of
personnel. Plans and coordinates staff development programs.16.
Supports Pharmacy staff to provide direct clinical pharmacy
services to patients, including compounding, dispensing, consulting
and advising. Routinely provides staffing coverage as needed on
patient care areas.17. Is responsible for the Pharmacy Residency

Qualifications
Required Licensure and Certifications:
Pharmacist License
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess strong knowledge of Hospital Pharmacy Services; strong
knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and
professional standards; strong project management skills; good
communication skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change
management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level
of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place
a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years of progressive experience as a practice pharmacist.
