CATEGORY Management DESCRIPTION The Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for the operational excellence of their assigned department within the restaurant. This position is critical to Buffalo Wild Wings and LaHaise Management by ensuring that all food product is served to the specifications of the standard recipes and guests' requests. The AKM impacts the long term viability of the restaurant by delighting guests and building team morale among staff members while keeping costs low to ensure maximum profit growth.Responsibilities:GUEST

  • Ensures guests are delighted with food selections thus inspiring loyalty and repeat business.
  • Effectively handles guest food orders resulting in delighted guests as evidenced by customer satisfaction scores.TEAM
    • Executes all company specified training and development and incentive programs.
    • Handles shift-by-shift coaching and performance counseling of team members.
    • Provides performance feedback and recognition to department team members.
    • Maintains an open door policy with team members as evidenced by surveys and turnover.OPERATIONS
      • Adheres to standardized recipes 100% of the time.
      • Ensures the correct food ordered gets to the correct table 100% of the time, hot and fresh.
      • Utilizes all compliance systems, manager tools and procedures with 100% integrity.
      • Maintains high cleanliness standards and holds team members accountable for adherence to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules reflected in QSC score.
      • Ensures adherence to EcoSure, Food and HACCP standards as evidenced by health department audits.
      • Assists in the rollout of new company programs, policies and procedures as requested.
      • Unloads trucks, pallets and cases of food and beverage, and puts in assigned locations.SALES AND PROFIT
        • Manages shifts to achieve sales and profit goals.
        • Controls cost of goods and waste management.
        • Controls cost of labor within the kitchen department. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Skills / Qualifications: Guest service mentality; has a genuine desire to serve the customer. Strong verbal communication and listening skills. Self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision. Energetic and flexible. Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations. Manages multiple projects and timelines with a sense of urgency and follow through. Well organized and detail oriented. Forms strong working relationships within team. Identifies additional tasks to be completed and willingly assists others. Follows direction with focused attention. Ongoing learning; exhibits insatiable curiosity and an interest in self-improvement. Strong computer skills are optional but beneficial. Minimum two years restaurant experience preferred. Must possess proper food handlers certifications, or complete certification at first available class. Results - Measurements for Determining Success Department meets or exceeds hourly labor target. Department meets or exceeds cost of goods target. Brings any harassment or discrimination issue to the attention of Human Resources or General Manager same business day. Adheres to standardized recipes 100% of the time. Ensures the correct food ordered gets to the correct table 100% of the time, hot and fresh. Ensures guest receives food in less than 12 minutes for lunch and 15 minutes for dinner. Utilizes all compliance systems and manager tools and procedures with 100% integrity. Department meets or exceeds EcoSure target score. Department meets or exceeds guest feedback target scores.
