accountable and responsible to the appropriate Assistant Dean and
the Dean of the National Energy Center of
Excellence.RESPONSIBILITIES:This position is responsible for
providing leadership to the programs within the Mechatronics
(Mechanical, Electrical, Programming, Robotics) pathway in
accordance with the mission of Bismarck State College. They will do
this in the following ways:
- Teaching undergraduate courses within the mechatronics
pathway.
- Recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in support of
their academic goals.
- Collaborating with colleagues to assist in course and program
coordination.
- Supporting a model that creates an engaging community of
learners in connection to the programs within the finance
pathway.
- Engaging with industry partners in development and maintenance
of academic programs within the mechatronics pathway.Benefits:
COMPENSATION: Twelve-month, full-time, non-tenure track position.
Minimum starting salary $66,485 (masters required), based on

Description & Details:
- Instructs courses within the Mechatronics pathway. (Mechanical,
Electrical, Programming, Robotics)
- Provide classroom and/or laboratory instruction and
supervision.
- Provide ongoing curriculum development, revision of courses and
program areas, and participate in academic assessment.
- Provide academic advising to students.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Participate in departmental and campus activities.
- Support student interest into the program pathway throughout
the academic year.
- Provide year round support for student recruitment activities
connected to programs within the mechatronics pathway.
- Serve as the main contact for prospective students for the
programs within the mechatronics pathway.
- Provide primary advising and retention support for students
enrolled in programs within the mechatronics pathway.
- Collaborate with academic leadership in mechatronics program
pathway development and maintenance.
- Assist in developing and maintaining program admission
requirements
- Assist in the evaluation of student applicants into the
baccalaureate program.
- Work with the college and other partners for the long-range
planning and ongoing development of the program pathways.
- Work in conjunction with the Foundation and other campus areas
in support of grant applications as it relates to the program.
- Provide an environment of high student engagement.
- Supervises and mentors program area Student Organizations.
- Recruits students for competitions and student organization
memberships
- Serves as faculty advisor for BSC mechatronics student
club
- Maintain and enhance relationships with affiliated finance
partners.
- Attend and participate in BSC Mechatronics-related meetings and
events.
- Coordinate with Polytechnic Outreach in supporting an active
and engaged Mechatronics Business and Industry Leadership Team
(BILT).
- Identify new partnerships with industry, secondary, or
postsecondary organizations in support of the programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical

pounds.Minimum Requirements:
- Appropriate master's degree or an equivalent combination of
education and professional experience.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working with direct and indirect
reports (faculty, staff, etc.), and administration.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- High level attention to detail and the ability to manage
multiple deadlines.
- Good computer software skills (i.e., Microsoft Office
Suite-Word, Excel, Teams, etc., Outlook E-mail and Calendar) and
strong internet familiarity.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with curriculum and course development,
- Experience in post-secondary teaching
- Experience with distance/online education, academic assessment,
dual credit/early entry, and prior learning.
- Substantial industry experience.
