CONTRACT DRAFTER SITE BASED, MANDAN, NORTH DAKOTA
Prepares mechanical and electrical drawings or technical
illustrations using AutoCAD drafting software. Creates new drawings
and completes redline updates to ensure that project drawings
reflect field conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary job duty is to complete miscellaneous drafting as assigned
by Project Engineering Supervisors. All drafting will comply with
Marathon drafting standards and use AutoCAD software. May be
required to enter Refinery operating units to gather field
Additional duties may include, but not be limited to: maintaining
the pipe line number database and instrument tag database,
assisting others with document searches in our Document Management
System, and other duties as assigned.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to
communicate effectively with all employees.
Proficiency and literacy using a CAD workstation. Must have a
working knowledge of AutoCAD 2019 and Microsoft Office software
including, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Experience with E*Doc
document management software is preferred.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, including,
P&IDs, PFDs, Plot Plans, Piping Isometrics, Electrical
One-Lines, Wiring, and Loop Diagrams.
Ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision,
and complete projects within acceptable time standards.
Education and Work Experience
A High School Diploma is required. An Associate Degree in drafting
or design is preferred.
Minimum of one-year drafting experience in the petroleum industry
is required. Three or more years of experience is preferred.
